Save the kiwis, trap a hedgehog

Last Wednesday night on the Paul Henry Show, a rather prickly issue was raised when reporter Jesse Peach crossed live to Victoria University’s student pub where Students are being invited to take dead rats to the university’s science lab to exchange it for beer tokens*.

The full cross can be watched here.

Two young ‘conservationists’ revealed they had trapped a hedgehog and were giving it a life of luxury before killing it.

This caused a massive online outcry from Paul Henry Show viewers and hedgehog activists alike.

Jesse Peach followed the story up by meeting the couple who killed the hedgehog to ask if they regret what they did.

*The Hunter Lounge is not allowing students to bring dead rats into the bar.
