How Taupo farmers have dealt with nitrogen limits

Yesterday reports came through that the we heard that enough farmers have signed up to a plan to limit the amount of nitrogen entering Lake Taupo. We’ve previously talked to farmer Mike Barton about this plan to save the lake from algal blooms. In this video Taupo farmer Mike Barton talks about how farmers have dealt with the nitrogen limits. This is an important lesson for the country, as today Environment Minister Nick Smith pointed out that this approach could be rolled out in other areas with water quality problems.
