Providing recovery and reconstruction work for villages damaged by landslides in eastern Nepal. Since 2009, New Zealander Sara Rai, her husband (Nepalese Sherpa guide) Kamal Rai, and other Trust members have supported the village areas of Bala & Tamku in eastern Nepal. Main projects have involved the construction of a suspension bridge in place of a washed out bridge site on the Sankhuwa river, renovation of 5 primary schools, renovation of 3 village water supplies, trail improvements between villages, and re-planting of a valuable crop ( alainchi -cardamom spice) to provide supplementary income. The latest project is replacement of a suspension bridge at Budhabare, and replacement of a school roof.
