During Junk Free June Skye kept all the sugary treats she got given by people other than her parents. You’ll be shocked to see what she collected. One in three of our kids are classified as overweight or obese, and we can’t just blame the parents for this problem. Children are bombarded by junk food advertising and food that used to be a ‘rare treat’ is now an everyday occurrence. If we want to reduce child obesity and prevent the lifetime of problems it creates, we have to change the food environment our kids grow up in.
